Many of us don’t appreciate ourselves and don’t give ourselves credit for staying true to who we really are. Accepting who you are will build a healthy relationship between your conscious and your body. Letting go of my own personal flaws has been troubling at times, but it feels refreshing to wake up and feel happy for myself and my goals. Before we think about developing relationships with others, we should look inside ourselves first and acknowledge our accomplishments more so than our shortcomings. To start off, be grateful for the body you have, regardless of the size or shape. Ability is privilege in and of itself. Love your body, and it will love you back. Practice kindness, exercise, and healthy eating. You may think you have no time, but self-care should always be your first priority. Today’s popular culture makes us feel like we have to look a certain way, but trying too hard to be perfect will never give you satisfaction. Accepting yourself will let you radiate with confidence, and you will feel better from the inside and out. Sometimes we can be harsh on ourselves, so we make ourselves feel better by judging others negatively. Next time you notice yourself critiquing others, focus on the positives instead. You’ll be happier! You can start one day at a time. Look in the mirror and say, “Damn, I look good!” and you will start every day with a smile. We all put our bodies through so much work, so we need to make sure we treat them from time to time. Get a facial, a massage, or food, anything that makes you happy. Do things that make you smile, and you will live a happier life.
